Evelyn Causey is currently President/COO of Hayneville Telephone Company and Camellia Communications serving Lowndes and Butler Counties. After attending Troy University where she earned a degree in Business Administration, Evelyn worked in the residential mortgage industry gaining a great deal insight into the finance industry. In 1992 she joined her family to assist in the operation of a small ILEC in Hayneville, Alabama. Since that time the business has grown to two counties serving over 4000 customers with voice, high speed internet, security, and IPTV video services. Through the advancements in technology, Evelyn has lead the effort to grow bandwidth availability to rural consumers. With over 31 years of experience in the rural Alabama market, she is committed to seeing communities not only survive, but thrive.
Evelyn and her husband Mark have three children and six grandchildren, whom all reside in rural Alabama. She currently serves on the Butler County Commission of Economic Development, Lowndes County Commission of Economic Development, and as a Board of Director for the Broadband Association of Alabama and Mississippi. She is very grateful to have had leadership opportunities throughout her career serving Alabama communities.
