Kristi Stamnes currently serves as the Director of Baldwin County 9-1-1 and brings over 30 years of experience in the Public Safety field. Her career began in 1995 as a dispatcher with the Gulf Shores Police Department. Driven by a deep passion for public safety, Kristi later earned her Alabama Peace Officer Certification (1996).
Kristi previously served as the Director for Covington County 911 for 18 years, including four years in a dual role as both 911 and Emergency Management Director. She went on to lead Washington County 911 in Brenham, Texas, for five years as Director, before returning to Alabama, to join the Mobile County Communications District, where she served as Operations Manager and later as Interim Director.
Throughout her career, Kristi has remained actively involved in the 911 industry. She has served on numerous committees, boards, and professional organizations, including NENA, APCO, and AAND. Training has always been a top priority for Kristi, and she has proudly served as an APCO instructor for 24 years. She currently holds the role of State Deputy Coordinator for the Alabama Telecommunicator Emergency Response Taskforce (ALTERT) and serves as the Mobile LATA representative for the Alabama Chapter of NENA.
Kristi holds several professional certifications, including EMT-Basic (2005), Emergency Number Professional (ENP) certification (2007), Advanced Emergency Manger through the Association of Emergency Managers (2007), and Certified Emergency Communications Administrator through the Alabama Association of County Commissions (2015).
Kristi and her husband, Bob, are proud parents to their daughter, Sami, and son-in-law, James.
